Red Lipstick

I enjoy red lipstick so much. It looks so elegant and sophisticated.  Red lipstick is great for an evening out, especially when you are dressing up.
  1. Start off with the basics. (If you have not read my basics posts, I suggest reading that first.)
  2. Take eyeliner (whatever color you prefer, I used black eyeliner) and put a thin line across top eyelid, as close to the lashes as possible.
    • Smudge your eyeliner slightly so it doesn't look as harsh. ( I use an eyeliner pencil with a smudger on the end, but you can use a Q-tip-- be sure to smudge it lightly, or the Q-tip will rub it off.)
  3. Use white liner on your lower waterline
    • (I didn't have white liner, so I substituted white eyeshadow; it works just as well. You will need to apply a little more shadow to get the same effect.)
  4. Apply a skin colored eyeshadow to your eyelids and below your eyes
    •  (It covers up any unevenness in skin tone and helps cover dark veins.)
  5. Curl eyelashes
  6. Apply one thick coat of mascara
    • (Again, it can be any color you'd like, but I would suggest it be the same color as your eyeliner.)
  7. Smooth on lip plumper
    • (If you don't have lip plumper, use a Chapstick.)
  8.  Two thick coats of red lipstick
    •  (Any shade of red lipstick you'd like.)
  9. Take the sponge you used to do your foundation and dab it along the edge of your lips. (Don't apply any more foundation to it; whatever was left on after your face will work.)
    • (Dabbing the foundation gives you extra coverage around your lips so your skin doesn't look red; otherwise your lipstick will look smeared.)
  10. With a fluffy powder brush, brush on a layer of powdered foundation to set your liquid foundation and give you a little extra coverage.
    • (If you do this too soon, before your liquid is dry, it will cake up and look bad.)
  11. You're ready for a night out on the town!
