Eyebrow techniques

There are many different ways to control your unruly hair. From shaving to threading to plucking. Everyone wants to keep their hair under control, so I'm going to give you the 411 on the best ways how.

  1. Plucking- Probably one of the most normal, common used technique. You just need a good, sharp pair of tweezers, try to look for ones that are slanted so they grip your eyebrows well.
    1. First, place a very warm wash cloth over your eyebrows for a few seconds to loosen the pores, so the eyebrows slip right out.
    2. Then take your tweezers and a couple hairs at a time, maybe even one at a time, pluck out your eyebrow hairs.
  2. Waxing- Next we have waxing, probably another very common technique. Most people get their eyebrows waxed at a salon, but they make kits to do it yourself at home.
    1. If you are doing it yourself you just need some wax that you heat up, either by microwaving it in a microwaveable safe bowl or if you are using wax strips, then you just rub them in your hands to heat them up. After they are heated up, you just apply the wax where the hair you want to remove is, and apply a strip over it. Then press down on it, pull skin taught, and rip it off in one quick swift movement.
  3. Shaving- Shaving, the one technique that no one really thinks about doing. I mean us girls shave our legs, and underarms, and some other things that we don't want to disclose, but why don't we shave our eyebrows?
    1. You don't use a normal razor that you would shave your legs with, they have these skinny razors that are designed specifically for your eyebrows. You can get them at any local drug store like, The Dollar store, Walmart, or CVS.
    2. All you do is take the razor and shave around your eyebrows in the shape you want them.
    3. It doesn't last as long as waxing, but it is a nice in between waxing sessions, quick fix.
  4. Threading- This is probably the most uncommon of them all. Threading came from eastern countries like India and Persia. Threading is something done at beauty salons and is really inexpensive.
    1. What they do is take cotton thread and move it in a twisting motion around your eyebrows, so it pulls the hairs right out of your folicles.
These methods can be used for any unruly hair area on your body. But remember, some methods last longer then others. So if you are one who doesn't want to mess with your hair all the time I suggest waxing or threading. Shaving is something to do in between for quick touch ups. And plucking is something I do when there is that one or two stubborn hairs that grow inbetween waxings.
